Hi, I’m Rene’!
Let me share some information about me and my “Why” of becoming an LPC. I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2022, following my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from The University of Texas at San Antonio, and an Associate of Arts in Psychology from Northwest Vista College. My academic and clinical training laid a strong foundation for the trauma-informed, compassionate care I provide today.
As a military spouse of over 28 years and a former military BRAT, I bring a deep, personal understanding of life transitions, cultural diversity, and the emotional impact of constant change. Raising four children, caring for our three fur babies, and moving across the globe have shaped the grounded, empathetic way I show up in the therapy space. You don’t have to explain military life, or the weight of transition, here however I am also wanting to know your lived experiences.
I recently moved back to Texas from Colorado and am licensed in Texas , Colorado, and Florida, providing telehealth mental health counseling for individuals. My clinical experience includes working with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, substance use, and major life transitions. I believe every person’s story matters and deserves to be met with empathy, respect, and genuine care.
I founded ICS Therapy with the mission of providing compassionate, confidential, and personalized care so that each person I work with feels not only supported but empowered to move forward with strength and resilience.
Outside the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my family, being creative with different forms of home design, arts and crafts, trying a new recipe, traveling, visiting museums with my family, and spending time in nature. I value meaningful relationships and have enjoyed volunteering with hospice organizations, offering emotional support to those seeking connection during vulnerable moments. These passions keep me grounded and deeply connected to the human experience, something I carry into my work with clients every day.
Let’s work together to help you find healing, resilience, and growth—on your own terms!
